Alan Shimel of Network World has shared the latest news surrounding NoSQL solution Aerospike, formerly known as Citrusleaf. He writes, “The Big Data space promises to be a huge bonanza for the companies that emerge as the leaders. One segment of the Big Data market that is really red hot is the NoSQL market. Companies like 10Gen, Couchbase, etc. are startups in that space competing with old-line database companies like Oracle. But there is still time for new companies to emerge as winners. A couple of Silicon Valley-based VCs are making a bet on another NoSQL player. Aerospike, formerly Citrusleaf, is re-emerging with some fresh capital, a new acquisition, advisers, and a new attitude.”
I had a chance to sit down with Srini V. Srinivasan, founder and VP of engineering and operations at Aerospike, along with Don Haderle, who is known as the ‘Father of DB2.’ Srini and Don are really excited about all of the good news coming out of Aerospike, and you can feel the energy coming from these two men about the company… You can listen in to my conversation (about 15 minutes) with Srini and Don below. Don, in particular as a database industry legend, is well worth the time to hear his insights and views.”
