Attachmate recently announced that Kathleen Owens has been named President and General Manager of the company. The article states, “Attachmate Corporation delivers advanced software for terminal emulation, legacy modernization, managed file transfer and enterprise fraud management. Owens, who has been with Attachmate for more than 14 years and most recently served in the role of vice president of North American sales, is taking over for Bob Flynn who is now general manager and president of Novell, which was acquired by The Attachmate Group in 2011.”
CEO and chairman Jeff Hawn commented, “Since the acquisition last year, the Attachmate executive team has been focused on successfully integrating Novell into The Attachmate Group… During that time, a few executives, including Bob, have had responsibilities with both business units, which was an important strategy in executing the acquisition. Now it makes sense to ensure each business unit has a dedicated leader focused on its individual business. Kathleen is a respected and known leader within Attachmate. We are confident in her ability to continue building upon her predecessor’s success.”
