Shutterstock is looking for a Database Developer in New York, NY. According to the post, “Shutterstock.com is growing by leaps and bounds and our data is too. Our Business Intelligence department is looking for an ambitious, up-and-coming database developer with a passion for big data, perfect numbers, and insightful analysis. As the organization increases its dependence on data, we are looking for more ways to get data into the hands of decision makers, developers and the business in general. The successful candidate will work with various Agile product teams across the organization to help them gain access to data. Because of the close work with several teams throughout the organization, strong communication skills are a must.”
Qualifications include: “Minimum 3-year experience with SQL, preferably in reporting (not just writing CRUD operations). Strong understanding of database relationships (3NF, star schemas etc.). Experience with OLAP Cubes or dimensional modeling is a plus. Comfortable with statistics and data visualization in Excel. Interest in analysis, reporting, and graphing.” The ideal candidate should be comfortable “manipulating massive datasets quickly and efficiently in relational data stores; advising product owners, business owners and Agile teams; performing ETL (using SSIS) to extract data from MySQL and load into our warehouse; writing stored procedures to aggregate statistics; designing, implementing, and automating systems to improve our internal processes.”
