Klout is searching for an Operations Engineer in San Francisco, CA. The post states, “We’re looking for a seasoned operations engineer to help us create cutting edge systems and tools to manage, maintain and monitor all aspects of the Klout production, staging, and development environments. Our environment is an intense combination of modern software and tried and true technologies including and leveraging Hadoop, Hbase, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, MySQL, HAProxy, redis, memcached, Node.js and Scala. We’ll challenge your scalability chops with our high volume consumer site traffic coupled with the Big Data challenges of processing over 2.7 billion data signals a day for over 300 million users on multiple petabyte clusters.”
Qualifications include: “5+ years of experience in systems administration experience with Linux-based systems. Deep understanding of modern web technologies and data storage systems. Strong scripting skills in at least one language. Expertise in at least one large-scale RDBMS or NoSQL database system. Experience running a monitoring system — and participating in an on-call rotation. Klout score of 10 or higher. You’re a master of puppet — and mcollective to boot. You’re currently managing a large scale Hadoop cluster and understand map reduce thoroughly. You live and breathe open source tools and most importantly, you give back to the community. You’ve built out a series of dashboards to help your entire organization understand your production environment. You’ve not only run large scale production systems, but you helped get them there from the ground up.”
