Disney Technology Solutions & Services (DTSS) is looking for a Senior Manager of Big Data Solutions in Seattle, WA. The post states, “The person in this role will work to ensure that development efforts align to stakeholder vision and that the engineering team has the leadership it needs to succeed. In this role, the Senior Development Manager will: Work with the leadership team to coordinate architecture and development spanning multiple engineering and operations teams. Lead the engineering effort across concurrent, high visibility efforts of varying scale and scope. Prioritize those efforts across multiple stakeholders based on understanding of business impact and technical requirements. Map specific project work into long term architectural goals to build out a robust and useful platform. Keep the work queue aligned to changing stakeholder priorities, and keep development teams focused on high priority work.”
Qualifications for this position include the following: “10 years minimum software engineering experience. 3 years minimum leadership/management experience. Java, RDBMS. Web services, REST, JSON/XML. Distributed and scalable systems development (preferably) exposure Hadoop and/or other NoSQL technologies. Advanced degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or Math is preferred.”
