Adasphere is looking for a Software Developer – Big Data Analysis in Staunton, VA. According to the post, “Adasphere is a big-data analytics and informatics company in the fields of air quality and climate change. We work in different, sometimes fascinatingly obscure, disciplines to reveal insightful patterns in visually appealing ways. We are seeking energetic and adaptable candidates to join our collegial team of technology professionals. In this position, you will collect, synthesize, analyze, and maintain very large data sets from a variety of sources related to air quality and greenhouse gases. You will develop and utilize skills in developing and testing desktop, mobile, and web applications to present data in meaningful and interesting ways.”
It continues, “Candidates must be able to work independently on multiple projects with minimal direction on geographically distributed teams. Requirements include an undergraduate degree in informatics, computer science, computer information systems, geography, engineering or similar discipline and 3 years of related experience. A graduate degree is preferred. 5+ years object oriented development experience with integrated applications. 4+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL and/or SQL Server T-SQL. 2+ years of experience using C#, WPF, XAML, and the MVVM design pattern. Knowledge of program interfaces, services, messaging, files systems, and networks. Experience with agile/scrum/kanban teams using Team Foundation Server.”
