Amazon.com is looking for a Software Development Engineer in New York, NY. The post states, “This is Day 1 of creating a completely new shopping experience for millions of customers on Amazon.com. The team is a strategic initiative recently launched to help shoppers better engage with millions of authors/artists/brands/sellers on Amazon.com… You may already know if you’re a fit, but perhaps you’re worried about technology and experience requirements? Don’t be – we’re looking for smart, proven, engineers; junior or experienced; front end or back end or those superstars that can conquer both worlds; if you’re the right candidate, we’re flexible.”
It continues, “You’re still worried? Here are some things that we’d prefer to see, though none is independently a requirement: experience building extensible backend system platforms; experience building worldclass UI and self-service tools; online distributed systems and platform infrastructure design and implementation; big-data projects using hadoop, hive, and other open-source tools/technologies; experience mentoring and training the engineering community on complex technical issues; sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills; track record of delivery.”
