Microsoft Research is looking for a Senior Research Software Development Engineer in Redmond, WA. The post states, “The Computer Human Interactive Learning Group in Microsoft Research has for mission to empower people to use machine learning to automatically classify and extract schemas from unstructured data. We are looking for diverse and talented Engineers and Researcher to invent and build such a platform. In particular we are looking for the following skills: Machine learning, Data mining, Distributed storage and computing, Web programming, Human Computer Interactions (HCI), Scalable algorithms and data structures for Big Data, Community-based techniques for harnessing the ‘wisdom of crowds’, Natural language.”
Qualifications include: “This position requires strong analytical and programming skills. You will work in a start-up like environment with the team of researchers and developers in the broad areas of machine learning, HCI, distributed systems, and large data sets. 5 + years of programming experience in C++ and/or C#. Good communications skills, ability to work in a team, and passion for technology. MS or PhD in CS with a specialty in one of the above areas or equivalent experience is desirable. Knowledge and experience with large scale data platforms such as SQL/relational databases and MapReduce engines, hands on experience implementing distributed systems.”
