Rosetta Stone is looking for a Vice President of Engineering in San Francisco, CA. According to the post, "The VP, Engineering – Platform and Web Services is a critical role for the future success of Rosetta Stone. We are committed to delighting our customers with great features and rock solid performance and quality. We are looking for candidates with expertise and passion for building web services and large-scale distributed systems. The successful candidate will lead the redesign and development of Rosetta Stone’s core services as we very quickly evolve away from our traditional format and content (CD and language learning), to more modern forms of distribution (cloud-based, adaptive content delivery to iOS, Android and HTML5) and new content and commercial verticals."
The post continues, "We need someone who is able to modernize our legacy stack and enhance our capabilities with cloud-based architectures and services (particularly AWS), big data system design and adaptive content delivery. You must therefore be a strong technologist who sets the technical vision for your company and team. You will have strong experience building core services that power mobile and web products globally. You will have experience rebuilding teams to move with agility and efficiency. You must be a strong advocate for service oriented architecture and will understand the evolving business and customer needs to ensure the highest level of service scalability, extensibility and reuse. You have both the people leadership and technical agility to design, develop and launch innovative services that disrupt the industry and surprise and delight our customers and our potential customers."
