Fidelity is looking for a Vice President of Data Strategy & Architecture in Smithfield, RI. The post states, “The Workplace Investing (WI) unit of Fidelity Personal, Workplace and Institutional Services (PWIS), helps millions of people save and invest through workplace savings plans, and provides employers with cost-effective, integrated employee benefit solutions… WI is seeking a leader with proven delivery experience around data analytics and big data. The candidate will have played a lead role in architecting and transforming an organization from a ‘reporting’ environment to an analytics environment that provides deep and meaningful insights to senior management and customers from the firm’s data. The successful candidate will work with internal and external customers, understand the business outcomes which will make the product successful, articulate the vision to senior management, and drive the technical architecture and direction of the next generation solution.”
Qualifications include: “Minimum of 10 years systems development and implementation experience. Hands-on experience with programming on high-scale or distributed systems (such as Hadoop). Experience with at least 4 of the following activities in the context of high-scale or distributed systems: Implementation of ETL applications. Implementation of reporting applications. Application/implementation of custom analytics. Administration of relational databases. Data migration from existing data stores. Infrastructure and storage design. Developing capacity plans for new and existing systems. Hands-on experience with related/complementary open source software platforms and languages (e.g. Java, Linux, Apache, Perl/Python/PHP, Chef). Experience with ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools (e.g Informatica, Talend, Pentaho). Experience with BI tools and reporting software (e.g. Microstrategy, Cognos, Pentaho).”
