The Data Governance Winter Conference took place earlier this month in Florida, and as Francine Adams reported, the event was a “world class” success. Adams commented, “presenters and authors included Rob Seiner, KIK Consulting and Editor of The Data Administration Newsletter (TDAN), Gwen Thomas, President of The Data Governance Institute, Keynote and Peter Aiken, Associate Professor/Founding Director VCU/Data Blueprint, President of DAMA International. Attendees received a CD with a wealth of information on all aspects of data governance provided by every presenter on the agenda.”
Adams continues, “Michele Koch, Director of Enterprise Data Management at Sallie Mae, winner of 2011 the Data Governance Best Practice Award sponsored by DebTech International, Wilshire Conferences and TDAN.com was among the highlights at this event… With increasing concerns in data privacy and security, presenters David Schlesinger, Data Security Architect, Metadata Security LLC and Mark Meleski, Senior Director of Data Governance, Privacy and Business Intelligence, Neustar brought concepts of importance for all data. To review all of the excellent speakers who presented this winter visit the DG Winter Conference Speakers page.”
The article adds, “The Data Governance Conferences occurs annually every winter with sister conference, Data Governance & Information Quality every summer typically held at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa in San Diego. Keep checking in for dates for 2012. DebTech International and Wilshire Conferences annually present the Data Governance Winter Conference and along with IADQ, the annual Data Governance & Information Quality Summer Conference.”
