CBS Interactive is looking for a Business Intelligence and Data Analyst in San Francisco, CA. According to the post, “The successful candidate should enjoy combining analytical and technical skills with business acumen to help guide the future of television online. In this role, you will use your quantitative training to help develop insights based product portfolio for TV entertainment. In addition, you will work with the Entertainment and Lifestyle properties (e.g. CBS.com, TV.com, CHOW) to support key business decisions, mine audience insights, and develop a keen analytics instinct about the business. The analyst will work with cross-functional teams to develop solutions, propose reporting requirements, and provide day-to-day stakeholder support from a variety of rich, complex data sources.”
Qualifications for the position include: “Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent quantitative training. 2-5 years working experience with strong analytical and problem-solving skills involving data mining and machine learning, data and predictive modeling, data integration methodologies, and data warehousing. Extensive experience querying large, complex data sets; proficient with relational database (Oracle, Netezza, Teradata, Hive/Hadoop) and spreadsheets (i.e. Excel) is essential. Proficient in advanced SQL and with analytics tools (R, SAS, S+, MATLAB). Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics, Omniture, etc). Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects. Must be detail-oriented and focused on data accuracy.”
