DIRECTV is looking for a Data Architect in Los Angeles, CA. According to the post, “The Data Architect position represents a high level of proficiency and expertise in the Data Architecture domain. The Data Architect will participate in setting the strategic Information Architecture direction for the company. The Data Architect serves as a partner and an internal consultant to other IT organizations to make sure that the Information Architecture is aligned to business goals and brings value to the business.”
Qualifications include: “Experienced in data analysis, conceptual and logical data modeling, and data integration mechanisms. Strong data modeling skills, including a deep understanding of relational and multi-dimensional database designs and the normalization levels of Operational Data Stores (ODS) and data marts. Prefer candidates with proven experience in development and execution of Enterprise Data Strategy and Data Governance process. Experience with data-modeling tool such as PowerDesigner. Good understanding of Object Oriented Design (OOD) techniques desirable. Experience with UML, requirements gathering, use case analysis and object modeling.”
