Safeway is looking for a Data Governance Analyst in Pleasanton, CA. Responsibilities of the position include the following: “Coordinate and oversee work completed by off-shore resources. Review new items after completion of set up to ensure accuracy. Analyze data attribute needs to support business initiatives and coordinate mass changes. Manage corporate level data in DB2 tables and merchandising applications. Set up PLU’s to support marketing initiatives. Ensure accuracy of tare values in the system to comply with weights and measures. Maintain product specific data needs to insure compliance with SOX and Consumer protection regulations. Research and implement data cleanup activities to ensure accuracy and consistency in a proactive manner. Support retail stores and backstage users by researching issues and communicating resolution.”
Qualifications include the following: “Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Report writing experience in QMF and SQL and strong knowledge of Safeway database tables required. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and experience in Safeway merchandising systems. Excellent analytical skills and ability to independently solve problems. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities. Strong planning and organizing skills required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess a strong sense of urgency and be very detailed oriented. Excellent customer service skills.”
