Standard & Poor’s is searching for a Data Manager in New York, NY. According to the post, “Standard & Poor’s Data Strategy & Operations (DSO) group is currently seeking to hire a Data Manager focused on Regulatory & Compliance Reporting. The Data Strategy Operations group leverages data management best practice to improve the sophistication of S&P’s analytical & data capabilities in areas such as surveillance, quantitative analysis, product development and risk management. Within and across each of the Data Strategy & Operations pillars are global teams of people with expertise in data management who work together to make data and information efficiently available for analytical activities and for new products and services, and work closely with IT to build and maintain critical database systems utilizing S&P-wide technology and architecture standards.”
Responsibilities include the following: “Work with the heads of the business units and other project stakeholders to define data quality requirements; understand their data reporting issues and partner with them to achieve higher data quality and enhanced efficiency. Deliver tactical and strategic recommendations for the execution of necessary data activities with a concentrated focus on compliance and enterprise-wide acceptable solutions. Assess and map processes and provide/implement recommendations to improve data quality. Recommend solutions and procedures to the business to achieve high quality data and take into consideration other systems/software utilized for other purposes. Provide training on data quality tasks and strategies to data users. This may include assisting the development of the technical documentation used.”
