AARP is looking for a Director of Data Governance and Strategy in Washington, DC. Responsibilities of the position include, “Leads the effort to develop and implement data governance policies and procedures. Responsible for development and improvement of the standards relating to data standardization/integration, data cleaning/preparation, and data architecture for various data domains and promoting the standards across the organization. Responsible for the development of data definitions, consistency/uniformity, quality, compliance, access levels and associated standards, policies and procedures pertaining to member data across various business units and systems. Responsible for documenting data steward and data managers roles and responsibilities, change documents, and provides training material as data standards are established or modified.”
Requirements for the position include, “Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree and 8-10 years of experience within a technical business environment focusing on database development and management; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position. Experience in establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors. Experience in managing teams across business units. At least 8 years experience in improving data quality. Strong knowledge of data quality management, data integration, and master data management principles.”
