Discover Financial Services is searching for a Director of Enterprise Data Management in Riverwoods, IL. According to the post, “The Director of Enterprise Data Management will be responsible for implementing new database solutions for Discover Financial Services and supporting the existing database system technologies. This technology leader will manage a team of database professionals who are responsible for administering a group of heterogeneous databases technologies in a fast paced, data intensive environment. The Director of Enterprise Data Management will provide expertise and direction regarding the architecture, design, and support of databases technologies.”
Responsibilities of the position include the following: “Provides engineering and operational support for Discover Financial Services’ database. Provides support for ad hoc database projects. Defines the vision and strategy to provide effective information architecture for the enterprise. Oversees development of information/data architecture for all projects and teams, and establishes database standards and best practices, as well as data administration and metadata management standards and best practices. Provides leadership, direction and guidance to enterprise data analytics and warehousing initiatives, to ensure standards and practices are followed, and continually improved. Has the ultimate responsibility for enterprise data architecture throughout the company, and ensures that all projects continue to enhance and refine the enterprise data.”
