Capital One is seeking an IT Director, Data Governance in Richmond, VA. According to the post, “Individual provides leadership and enterprise direction for managing Data Quality across the organization. Provides a vision for evolving Data Quality practices and tools and implements a roadmap for carrying out that vision. Communicates to senior leaders the level of data quality in each area and the risk associated with data quality issues. Works across lines of business to mature the data stewardship practice. Leads a central core team of data stewards and data analysts to define the enterprise requirements for data quality, methodology for measuring data quality risk, and the standards for data stewards to monitor data quality.”
The responsibilities of the position include, “Determine the organization’s data quality risk by defining the assessment methodology and processes and work with Operational Risk Management to incorporate in the executive risk management scorecard. Lead the organization’s central team of data stewards responsible for defining the data quality standards and practice of data stewards across the organization. Ensure compliance to the data quality standard. Work closely with the Operational Risk Management team to align data quality risk with overall Operational Risk processes and requirements. Evolve the data policy and standard to further strengthen our data quality controls as well as to meet any new regulatory requirements that may be introduced (e.g. Basel II/III)”
