GEICO is looking for an IT Enterprise Data Architect in Chevy Chase, MD. The post states, “The qualified candidate will help expand the Enterprise Data Warehouse at GEICO. This position has direct responsibility to design logical and physical data models in support of Enterprise Data Warehousing requirements. The person selected will be responsible for ensuring the optimum design, quality, performance, integrity, and reliability of data warehousing database applications through the use of data modeling principles and software tools. This requires the individual to work independently and interact frequently with business customers. So, excellent critical thinking and communication skills are a must.”
Responsibilities of the position include the following: “Defining and implementing data modeling standards including element naming conventions. Performing data source analysis and data profiling. Performing data dictionary administration. Defining dimensional models in support of analytical requirements: Star Schema, Snowflake Schema. Designing, defining and implementing standards and procedures for Metadata creation, capture, synchronization and dissemination. Conducting data quality assessments.”
