TD Ameritrade is searching for a Senior Manager of Data Governance in Jersey City, New Jersey. According to the post, “The Data Governance Lead will be responsible for the facilitation between technology and the business to resolve data quality and data ownership issues. The Lead will provide leadership in coordinating, assessing, improving and communicating the data governance processes. The discipline embodies a convergence of data quality, data management, business process management, and risk management surrounding the handling of data in an organization. The discipline is the practice of organizing and implementing policies, procedures and standards for the effective use of an organization’s structured/unstructured information assets. The discipline refers to the overall management of the availability, usability, integrity, and security of the data employed in an enterprise. A sound data governance program includes a governing body or council, a defined set of procedures, and a plan to execute those procedures.”
Responsibilities include: “Conceptualize and operationalize the vision of the steering committee. Create strategies and processes to profile data more completely, and identify new ways to extract future value from our existing information assets. Co-ordinate between the core team (comprised of both business mgrs and application mgrs) and extended teams of data governance council including conflict resolution and creating and implementing policies to ensure that Enterprise data is accurate, reliable and credible.”
