VMware is looking for a Vice President of Data Governance in Palo Alto, CA. The post states, “The VP of Data Governance is a business function. The individual will drive the data quality, data integrity and data management across the enterprise that will enable business users to leverage and use the data as a differentiator in running the business with accurate and core business information and intelligence. This leadership role is responsible for understanding business needs across the enterprise around customer data and driving the definition and prioritization of data improvement initiatives. Your ultimate objective is to build customer data as a competitive corporate asset helping VMware drive customer satisfaction, revenue growth and operational productivity.”
It continues, “Reporting to the VP of Sales Operations, this is a highly visible role. Candidates should have a proven track record of having built and run a data governance function for a multibillion dollar company (preferably a transactional, channel-driven data intensive business). The individual must be a superior communicator who can influence and work with VPs across Finance, IT, Renewals, Field Operations and Marketing to ensure the establishment and effective functioning of a Data Governance council. The ideal candidate must understand the importance of working closely with various cross-functional leaders and groups within VMware to build and execute company strategies.”
