As the year ends I have been reflecting on DATAVERSITY since its launch in April at Enterprise Data World 2011. The DATAVERSITY mission is to provide the single best source of education for anyone working with data in their professional life. It is a mission to help people know what jobs are available, what is needed to get those jobs and advance in them successfully. It is a mission that makes it easy for me to come to work every day.
In the beginning we only had a few contributors and even fewer subscribers. Slowly the word began to spread about who we are and what we do. We began to see a decent increase in subscribers; new people were coming to the site every day. We started posting new blogs and articles on a regular basis and will continue doing so into the future. We have had a remarkable number of webinars presented by leading industry professionals with an even greater 2012 schedule lined up. People have noticed. Our subscriber base has been growing at an almost vertical rate for the last several months.
We are connecting more and more people together within the industry; a beautiful network of information exchange is happening and people have been seeking us out to ask how they can get involved. Our team of contributors is growing each month. In November we had an article from Paul S. Barth, PhD, Managing Partner/Founder of NewVantage Partners and a blog from Anjul Bhambhri, VP of Big Data Products at IBM and the most recent contributor to join the DATAVERSITY team. More articles and blogs are ready for publishing in December and in the coming year.
We are thankful for our subscribers. We are thankful for our contributors and presenters. We are thankful for our sponsors and advertisers who of course make it all possible. We are thankful for all of you who have joined our mission to educate, inform and network in the data and data management fields. We are thankful for your active participation. We are thankful for all of the support and belief in our mission.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! We are very excited about what’s to come in 2012. We think you will be too.
Regards,
