Rodj Martin of IO Informatics recently wrote, “The IO Informatics team is pleased to announce that our ‘Sentient’ informatics framework now includes enterprise architecture with unlimited horizontal scalability. IOI has developed major new enterprise scalability refinements for our newest Sentient version 3.0. IOI has worked closely with IBM, Cray, Neo4J and several other leading semantic and NoSQL database technologies and partnerships to ensure massive scalability required for multi-institutional, national and global healthcare informatics. Judicious use of Angular JS on the front-end, built on an open source pipeline backbone with micro-service APIs, SPARK and combined NoSQL and relational database options bring the Sentient v3 Suite well into the 21st century technology stack required for global precision medicine and smart data-driven ‘Web 3.0’ applications.”

The IO Informatics website adds, “The Sentient Suite (‘Sentient’) allows non-IT users (researchers and subject matter experts) as well as IT experts to integrate data from multiple sources (files, instruments, databases, public sources) without creating new, static and inflexible data silos. Utilize data from multiple sources regardless of format and location using existing hardware and IT infrastructure, all in a secure, compliant and interoperable environment. Draw from public and private data, instruments, applications, and ontologies in order to combine and contextualize data in a meaningful way to create innovative custom knowledgebases. Visually access, explore, interrogate, report, and query your data to uncover hidden relationships and stimulate innovation. Accelerate discovery and share knowledge and insight with fellow researchers.”
