January 2016 DATAVERSITY Letter from the Editor

By on

Happy New Year! Happy 2016! Can you believe we are already 16 years past Y2K? The year in which data threatened the world because of an inability to process a year? Oh how much we’ve learned and how Data Management has progressed since then.

Let’s start by taking a look at what topics have been hot in just this last year. We’ve recently published our semi-annual Top 20 content of the year. Artificial Intelligence is very clearly not just the works of science fiction anymore as it is implemented more and more into practical applications. And the emerging implementation of Machine Learning litters the Top 20 this year. For the full list of hot topics, click HERE to review the Top 20 of 2015>>

We kick off 2016 with a full calendar of education.  We will be producing nine webinars in January including topics on NoSQL, Analytics, Data Governance, Data Strategy, Smart Data, and more. And that’s just January! To see a full list of all our Upcoming Webinars, click HERE>>

On January 27th we host our first ever virtual conference, Enterprise Data Governance Online. We are very excited about this new format. We have built a great lineup of sessions for this day with some top speakers based on what readers and past webinar registrants have told us they really want more information on. We hope you can join us for one or more sessions of the live event and we will make the recordings of the session available to registrants after the live event is over. For more information and to see the full agenda, go to: edgo.dataversity.net.

Moving into the year we get ready for our first face-to-face conference of the year, Enterprise Data World 2016 Conference April 17-22 in San Diego, California. Register now not only to get the fabulous discounted prices, but to make sure you get a spot at the event. We sold out the event last year and we’ve already seen a huge increase of early registrants this year. Prices go up after January 29th. For more information and to register, go to: www.enterprsiedataworld.com.

I wish you all once again a very happy New Year! May it be a great one!
