June 2016 DATAVERSITY Letter from the Editor

By on

We are almost half way through 2016. It’s amazing how much we’ve been through and accomplished so far this year and how many new exciting things yet to come, including our semi-annual Top 20 report to be published next month.

We have officially launched our Online Training Center offering two Learning Plans to start, one on Data Quality and one on Data Governance. We are very excited to offer this next level of education to our subscribers. Each Learning Plan has several different courses. Each course consists of a recorded educational tutorial followed by an exam. Once you pass the exam, the materials from the course will be available for you to download and use to apply your new knowledge gained to your daily job. If you pass all courses within a Learning Plan, you will receive a certificate of completion.

We are really excited about this next level of education. We have hence started additional work with some more of our top speakers / trainers to create more learning plans on some of the hottest topics in the industry including: Data Stewardship, Metadata, Data Modeling, Modeling NoSQL, and Smart Data. We are very excited to launch these and more throughout this year and beyond.

We’re also well underway to our second ever online conference, Smart Data Online happening July 13th. For this event we followed the feedback from attendees of our first event. We did away with the fancy platform and are going to our tried and true webinar process. Attendees told us it’s all about the content, so we focused all our efforts to put together a great agenda based on known interests. We lined up the following topics under the Smart Data umbrella including: Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Contextual Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Computing, and Machine Learning. Jim Kobielus, one of DATAVERSITY’s most regular and popular bloggers, will be presenting the keynote, “The Evolution of Big Data to Smart Data.”

We are also working to announce our third online conference happening later this year around NoSQL as well as beginning the plans for our second annual Enterprise Data Governance Online event next January.

We hope you are as excited as we are about these additional offerings being added to our already robust digital catalog of content. We look forward as always to providing quality education in all things Data Management.
