Join Karen and two or more expert panelists each month to discuss their experiences in breaking through these specific data modeling challenges. Hear from experts in the field on how and where they came across these challenges and what resolution they found.   • Anne Marie Smith
    • Anne Marie Smith, Ph.D. is an Information Management professional and consultant with broad experience across industries. She has exceptional, demonstrated skills in business requirements gathering and analysis, data governance and stewardship, data architecture, data and process modeling, strategic data management, meta data management, data quality management, master data management, data warehouse planning and design, project management, and information systems methodology development. Anne Marie holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems and has earned the designations of Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) and Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), along with Project Management certification. Anne Marie serves on the board of directors of DAMA International and is on the faculty of Northcentral University.

     

  • David Loshin

    • David Loshin is the President of Knowledge Integrity, Inc, (www.knowledge-integrity.com), a consulting company focusing on customized information management solutions including information quality consulting and training, business intelligence, metadata, and data standards management. David is among Knowledge Integrity’s recognized experts in information management, contributing to Intelligent Enterprise, DM Review, and The Data Administration Newsletter (www.tdan.com) and is a channel expert for the Business Intelligence network (www.b-eye-network.com). David’s most recent book is “The Practitioner’s Guide to Data Quality Improvement,” and he has authored “Master Data Management” published by The MK/OMG Press in September 2008. His book, “Business Intelligence: The Savvy Manager’s Guide” (June 2003), has been hailed as a resource allowing readers to “gain an understanding of business intelligence, business management disciplines, data warehousing, and how all of the pieces work together.” David has created courses for The Data Warehousing Institute, presented at DAMA/Meta Data conferences, taught tutorials on data quality at a number of venues, and as a representative of Knowledge Integrity is often called upon to provide insights and thought leadership to the Information Management community.

     

  • Pete Stiglich

    • Pete Stiglich is a Senior Healthcare Data Architect at Perficient. He has over 25 years IT experience having worked in Enterprise Data Architecture, Data Management, Data Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, Physical, Dimensional, Data Vault, EDW), Data Quality, DW/BI, MDM, Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Database Administration (DBA). Pete has developed and taught classes on a wide variety of EIM and Data Modeling topics for clients such as Singapore Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), NASA, Accenture, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Federal Reserve Bank, Mayo Clinic), at conferences (MIT Information Quality conference, Enterprise Data World, IADQ, BrainStorm, Marco Masters Series), and professional organizations (DAMA, Data Quality User Group).  He is the current president of DAMA Phoenix and past editor-in-chief of the quarterly journal Real World Decision Support.Pete holds a mastery level Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) and Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP). About the Moderator

Karen Lopez is Sr. Project Manager and Architect at InfoAdvisors.. She has 20+ years of experience in project and data management on large, multi-project programs. Karen specializes in the practical application of data management principles. She is a frequent speaker, blogger and panelist on data quality, data governance, logical and physical modeling, data compliance, development methodologies and social issues in computing.  Karen is an active user on social media and has been named one of the top 3 technology influencers by IBM Canada and one of the top 17 women in information management by Information Management Magazine.  She is a Microsoft SQL Server MVP, specializing in data modeling and database design.  She’s an advisor to the DAMA, International Board and a member of the Advisory Board of Zachman, International.

She’s known for her slightly irreverent yet constructive opinions and rants on information technology topics.  She wants you to love your data. Karen is also moderator of the InfoAdvisors Discussion Groups at www.infoadvisors.com and dm-discuss.
