Merkle has an opening for a Data Store Engineer – NoSQL/Hadoop in New York, NY. Qualifications include the following: “Experience with NoSQL data stores (Cassandra, MongoDB). Experience with Hadoop. Strong in data structures and programming practices. Knowledge of SQL databases, preferably MySQL. Well versed with debugging and benchmarking. Proficient in Shell scripting (Bash, Awk, etc). SQL experience is strongly preferred. Solid experience with large-scale, distributed systems design and development with a strong understanding of scaling, performance and scheduling. Experience with Big Table/Map Reduce or other parallel programming/processing techniques. Strong experience with Linux systems. Expert understanding of ETL techniques and best practices to handle extremely large and complex volume of data.”
