AppNexus is searching for a Data Team Engineering Manager in New York, NY. According to the post, “The AppNexus Data Pipeline processes nearly 10 billion log records a day (10 TB of data) generated by our real-time bidding engines and adserving platform… We are looking for a talented, hands-on senior engineer who will take ownership of all architecture around this stream of work. This is a highly visible role in a critical area of our platform, with the opportunity to lead the build-out at a time when the strategic requirements are still being scoped out. The immediate responsibilities for this role include architecting performance optimizations to our current, custom-built ETL solution, while building and executing a roadmap to scale up our platform at the rate that our hyper-growth dictates.”
Requirements of the position include: “7+ years of production software development experience. Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages (Java, Python). Must have experience with Hadoop, MapReduce and/or other large scale distributed data processing solutions. Experience with databases, SQL, query optimization, data modeling. Strong understanding of RDBMS, SQL, noSQL alternatives. Strong experience with data structures, algorithms, time vs space tradeoffs. Experience leading teams.”
