Media6Degrees (m6d) is looking for a Director of Software Development in New York. According to the post, “The successful candidate will have 10 years of development experience (minimum 5 years in a technical leadership role) excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering results. Responsible for overseeing and providing leadership for all technical approaches, the incumbent will plan all programming and software design, development of databases, and implementation of software development projects. We expect candidates to be experts with Agile methodologies.”
Qualifications for the position include: “Familiarity with Statistics, Machine Learning or Predictive Analytics. Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration. Java expert (5.0, 6 strongly preferred) including multi-threading, concurrency, etc. Strong Linux experience. Application Server or Servlet containers, Tomcat strongly preferred. Experience with Dependency Injection and IoC containers. SQL (MySQL 5.1 strongly preferred). NoSQL (Cassandra preferred). MapReduce (Hadoop preferred). IDE, Eclipse strongly preferred. Version control systems (Subversion strongly preferred).”
