Surrex Solutions, a new company in New York, NY, is looking for a Director of Technical Operations to work remotely. Accountabilities of the position include, “Manages the ops team. Designs and build the ops environment, including networking, physical servers, virtualization, storage management (file-based, RDB, and non-R DB). Creates the vision and manages the backlog for operational tasks and build-outs. Helps define, monitor, and defend SLAs around key metrics. Provides requirements for scalability, supportability, and ease-of-operation to the product development teams. Drives selection, negotiation, and management of key operations-vendor relationships. Enforces best practices in support and security. This is a hands-on role during early stages of the company’s growth, evolving into a more hands-off role as the team grows.”
Qualifications include, “12+ years of relevant experience in systems and infrastructure, as well as information security and compliance or related experience. 5+ years experience leading systems operations teams or infrastructure platforms group for startup and/or large internet firms with geographically dispersed audiences. Extensive experience in overseeing the operations of a high- volume environment, preferably a large-scale website or online ad serving. Should have deep experience with LAMP, SOA, SQL and NoSQL data stores, and Hadoop. Strong understanding of hardware, security, storage area network, and database capacity. Demonstrated experience with systems administration on Linux. Excel at managing a remote team.”
