Ebrary is searching for a hands-on IT & Analytics Director – Cloud-based Service Delivery in Palo Alto, CA. The post states, “You will direct and grow a first line team of senior IT engineers, work directly with other software development managers, and report to the VP of Engineering and IT. Our technology base is focused on fully virtualized and cloud-based services with particular emphasis on automated deployment and management techniques, rooted in our core development processes. Again, this is still very much a hands-on position, requiring minimum 10 years general IT experience or software engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership experience along the way.”
Qualifications include: “Years and years of experience with large scale Linux/Unix deployments, and a track record of continuous innovation and problem solving. Experience building fault tolerant, scalable systems. Experience building and managing large data infrastructure, involving data in any and all of the following: unstructured raw data, e.g., log data; mildly structured data, perhaps a NoSQL model… Experience building and managing analytics facilities that span the above data forms, and establish the inference tools base conformal to our enterprise needs, using techniques and tools such as: Hadoop, HBase and MapReduce/Pig; NoSQL/Cassandra (or CouchDB, MongoDB and Riak etc). Bridging between unstructured/structured or NoSQL to SQL/relational models.”
