NoSQL Job of the Day: J2EE Architect/Development Manager

WebMD is looking for a hands-on Architect/Development Manager in New York, NY. The post states, “The successful candidate will demonstrate ability to own all scoping, planning, design & development aspects of a full implementation, and be able to take the product from concept to production through following high level tasks: working with business stakeholders to finalize scope; lead initial estimation and staffing plans; analyze requirements to drive further clarification; propose, define and document sound design/refactoring options & alternatives; create sound pre-development estimates and assign tasks to other developers; develop application code and unit tests; integrate with other WebMD applications as necessary; deliver integrated application components to Testing and Quality Assurance team and support delivery to Production environment.”

Qualifications include: “Design, Architect and Manage rollout of complex web-based applications supporting high volume traffic. Lead Design, Coding, Testing, Defect Management, and Production Support (in collaboration with Operations team). OO design and programming and application development with J2EE technologies (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Spring) and Design Patterns. Ability to work with APIs to access other systems, e.g., Documentum Content Management System, Search (e.g., Endeca, Lucene, SOLR) etc. Ability to apply expertise in Database programming techniques; use of PL/SQL or T-SQL highly desired. Ability to apply computational techniques/tools for large scale data processing – including familiarity with NoSQL technologies.”
