HBO is looking for a Manager of Capacity and Database Technology (Cassandra) in New York, NY. The post states, “The candidate must have excellent knowledge of Oracle database and the ability to interact with and support software developers. The candidate must also have knowledge of NoSQL database technologies and a desire to work with a team on implementing NoSQL database technologies at HBO. This position is responsible for the management of people and projects including support and maintenance of existing Oracle infrastructure that supports HBO GO and HBO.com as well as new technology initiatives. Daily responsibilities include managing project resources. This includes planning, tracking and reporting status for projects, identifying and managing issues to resolution and ensuring quality of deliverables.”
Responsibilities of the position include: “Manage critical and accelerated projects in the DBA space. Overall responsibility for the project plans and timelines. Manage the R&D and the implementation of new database technologies. Responsible for a team of data architects. Work closely with application development group modeling data, performance tuning, troubleshooting issues and production deployments. Manage day to day tactical and strategic solutions of the database architecture. Manage timely resolution of all critical and/or complex problems meeting SLA requirements. On-call 24×7 to support mission critical environments. Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and all stakeholders.”
