OmniTI is searching for a NoSQL Database Administrator in Colombia, MD. Responsibilities of the position include the following: “Lead ownership of the NoSQL databases used in production and development. Monitor databases for problems and diagnose where those problems are. Work with senior engineers to maintain scalable, reliable, and robust database environments. Work with developers on performance tuning, query optimization, and application design. Build database tools and scripts to automate where warranted. Provide 24×7 escalated on-call support on a pager rotation.”
Qualifications for this position include: “1-2 years working with NoSQL database systems (Riak, Hadoop preferred). 1-2 years experience working with traditional RDBMS systems. Ability to write SQL queries, or map/reduce queries, as needed. Familiarity coding in Erlang and/or Javascript. Understanding of replicated and distributed database systems and their challenges. Excellent communication skills. Exceptional problem-solving expertise and attention to detail. BS in Computer Science or equivalent.”
