NoSQL Job of the Day: Senior Database Administrator

ARINC is looking for a Senior Database Administrator in Annapolis, MD. The post states, “ARINC Direct provides best-in-class flight-support and international-handling services for business jets. We have a 24×7 call center, staffed with qualified pilots and dispatchers, but make 100% of our functionality available over the web. Our sophisticated automation is the main reason our business is successful. The successful Senior DBA is ultimately responsible for implementation, maintenance, and on-going changes to production and SAT environments, as well as PostgreSQL and Oracle environments. The DBA will improve database architecture as well as maintain the database environment and its underlying platform.”

Qualifications for the position include: “Eight (8) or more years of Database Administration experience using PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS (such as SQL Server, MySQL). Must have two (2) or more years recent experience using PostgreSQL (up to 8.x), including PostgreSQL Admin tools with the focus of experience on the latest versions. Must have experience maintaining a PostgreSQL database in conjunction with the Django ORM. Familiar with NoSQL data storage concepts and determining when to store data in a NoSQL database versus RDBMS. Experience with database security concepts, including access, auditing, and encryption.”
