Harmonia is looking for a Senior Developer with Apache Hadoop and Big Data experience. Responsibilities of the position include: “Take a leading role in research, design, and implementation of solutions for efficient distributed collection and processing of very large amounts of data for challenging problems. Participate in product design and planning. Mentor junior developers. Translate design requirements and specifications into successful implementations. Create external design documentation. Proactively enforce standards and best practices.”
Qualifications include: “5+ years of prior professional experience including system analysis, software design and development in java or C/C++. Hands-on experience installing, administering and troubleshooting the Apache and/or Cloudera distributions of Hadoop. Experience using HBase, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, Mahout, Zookeeper and Avro. Experience in writing MapReduce jobs using Java. Experience using the Chukwa and/or Flume data delivery systems. Experience using Linux in a non-GUI (command line only) environment. Experience with the Red5 video server and familiarity with streaming video protocols and codecs a plus.”
