HP is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager of Cloud Platform Services in Seattle, WA. The post states, ” As part of the Cloud Platform Services team, you will participate in all aspects of building new cloud services related to distributed messaging systems. In our startup environment, everyone is expected to pitch in to help wherever needed to “get the job done”. We take pride in ownership, but great pride in execution, delivery, and operation of our services at “cloud-scale”. You will: Design, develop, unit-test, deploy, maintain, and document software to provide messaging services to cloud-based applications. Design and build robust, highly-scalable services that are best of breed. Consume and extend one or more open source technologies, contributing to the community as advancements are made. Troubleshoot and fix issues reported by QA, customers, and business partners.”
Qualifications include: “Must be a generalist comfortable with all aspects of software development of internet service infrastructure at massive scale. Must enjoy a fast-paced team environment where your success depends heavily on the success of your team and organization. Must have led significant projects through all phases of development, involving at least 10 employees. Medium programming ability in at least 2 of the following languages: Java, Ruby, Python, PHP, C/C++, Scala, Erlang. Expert knowledge of at least 2 of the following and general knowledge of many others: SQL: Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL; NoSQL: Mongo, Cassandra, Couch, Riak; Queuing: RabbitMQ, Gearman, AWS SQS; Caches: Memcached, Redis; Map-reduce: Hadoop.”
