The Copyright Clearance Center is looking for a Senior Performance Engineer in Danvers, MA. The post states, “The Senior Performance Engineer will be responsible for the planning, testing, and optimization of software products. This position requires the ability to work in a fast- paced, technologically sophisticated, team-based environment.” Responsibilities include the following: “Participate in specification, design, implementation, performance evangelism, QA testing, and support of the product. Work on small teams (4-10) engineers on a daily basis, using Agile engineering practices. Partner with the Architecture team in reviewing the design and deployment topologies from the perspective of performance. Establish Benchmarks for Network, Web, Application and Database layers.”
Qualifications include the following: “3+ years’ experience in performance engineering. Excellent programming skills (rapid development, testing, and profiling). Strong Java language and JVM knowledge. Knowledge of Java profiling tools (e.g. jmap, VisualVM, JVMPI, Apache JMeter, EurekaJ) required. Deep-seated experience in performance analysis, tuning and optimization of server class workloads. Systems programming skills, with knowledge of Windows and Linux/Unix. Understanding of distributed computing and large scale networks. Skilled with performance testing and NoSQL stores. Experience with distributed querying, and transactions. Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills. Ability to master new technology and application domains (e.g., financial, scientific, and industrial).”
