Potomac Fusion has an opening for a Senior Programmer in Silverdale, WA. The company is “Seeking a research-oriented software developer / data scientist for a position in Silverdale, WA. Qualified candidates will have strong knowledge of an object oriented programming language and will proactively build out NOSQL cloud-based analytic prototypes and corresponding visualizations. Creativity and willingness to learn are mandatory in this position, since languages and platforms often change rapidly. This person will experience a lot of variety through the development of many prototype frameworks for evaluation. The environment is highly collaborative and priorities may change frequently.”
Qualifications for the position include: “Full proficiency in either C# or Java. 5+ years minimum, 10 years preferred. 2+ years of SQL development, against any database. Experience with NoSQL technologies. Graph theory / AI / OLAP / or statistics background. Experience with unit testing and agile/scrum development. Strong communication and leadership skills. Passion for new technologies and a willingness to learn. Ability to work independently on small-to-mid-size open-ended programming tasks. Basic understanding of cloud computing, map/reduce, distributed processing, HDFS, columnar data stores. Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows. Experience with Spring or similar frameworks.”
