UberMedia is looking for a Senior Search Engineer in Pasadena, CA. Key responsibilities of the position include: “Participation in design, implementation, and evolution of UberMedia search engine, graph database and other key technologies. Collaboration with other engineers and with operations to deliver scalable, robust, and high-performance systems. Participate in a highly visible software development and quality assurance process. Work with team and managers to help define software release products and development cycles. Experienced with agile development methodologies like Scrum. Desire to design and implement solutions with significant data dependencies with NoSQL platforms in addition to traditional relational database platforms when appropriate.”
Required experience for the position includes, “At least 7 years of hands-on development experience in Java. Practical experience with distributed computing and clustering architecture. Technical expertise in web systems architecture, design, maintenance, administration and development on the Linux platform. Experience with Lucene, Solr and/or other real time search technologies. Experience with Memcached, Redis, Ehcache and/or other distributed caching systems. Ability to work alone and in small teams to deliver critical infrastructure.”
