Netflix is looking for a Senior Software Engineer – Messaging Platform in Los Gatos, CA. According to the post, the company is “looking for an exceptional hands-on Java engineer and architect to play a key role in defining and implementing our new Messaging Platform. This is a large distributed system responsible for delivery of all email messaging for marketing, transactional and logistics purposes. We are adding new communication channels and building our infrastructure in the cloud. We’re also expanding the system to support multiple countries and locales as we internationalize and localize the system. This is an opportunity to take on a broad and highly visible responsibility.”
Required skills include: “8+ years of relevant software development experience. Ability to quickly grasp high level business goals, vet requirements, and express them as effective technical solutions. Exceptional object oriented design and programming skills with Java and/or C++. Development experience with large-scale, highly parallel distributed systems. Solid understanding of data structures and data caching techniques. High proficiency with SQL and NoSQL database designs. Experience with RESTful resource-oriented web services. Development experience with Cloud services and technologies.”
