Kindsight is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in their Big Data Infrastructure group in Mountain View, CA. The position will be responsible for the following: “Design and develop components for a Big Data Infrastructure product. Develop extensible, scalable, reliable software. Interact with with other teams to define interfaces and understand dependencies. Write detailed technical documents. Understand and affect the product direction.”
Qualifications for the position include: “5+ years experience in server side development of complex systems. Experience in different phases of software development life cycle. Structured thinker; Effective communicator; Excellent programming skills. Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, performance optimization techniques, and object-oriented programming. 5+ years of server side Java in a UNIX environment required (Linux is preferred). Experience or understanding of MapReduce techniques such as using Hadoop/HDFS is highly desirable. Experience with web crawlers such as Nutch is highly desirable. Experience with NoSQL databases such as HBase is highly desirable. Experience with distributed computing in a clustered environment is highly desirable. Experience in start-ups is highly desirable. Should enjoy wearing many hats.”
