Nextag is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in San Mateo, CA. According to the post, “This is a position in the core platform infrastructure team – a team that builds horizontal, scalable, reliable, high performance low latency online or offline systems. These new systems that you design and architect will be used across multiple verticals in the company, and will be part of the core DNA that orchestrates entire lines of businesses within Nextag. Your colleagues will look upon your technical acumen to help guide and build their components. You are expected to have a high level idea of a wide spectrum of big-data technologies with deep operational knowhow of large scale systems. You will also be using leading and sometimes bleeding edge technology, primarily open-source, to solve business initiatives.”
Qualifications include the following: “Extensive experience in back-end software design and development. Understands software engineering as a craft & what it take to get systems production-ready. Experience with Linux-based, large-scale, distributed, web applications from front to back. Production experience with Java with a strong emphasis on coding principles, performance, design patterns, algorithms and data structures. Ability to evangelize new technologies that make our product better in better/faster/cheaper ways. Strong experience with one or more technologies like: Non-relational (NoSQL) stores like Cassandra, MongoDb or similar. Big data processing frameworks like Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig or similar. Large scale data collection and aggregation frameworks like Flume, Scribe or similar. Search engine technologies like SOLR/Lucene.”
