Symantec is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Waltham, MA. The post states, “The Senior Software Engineer candidate will join a team of senior-level developers and help build a cloud-based mobile product. The project’s vision is to provide enterprise-class management of users and their devices. Its technology stack will include Java, Spring, Grails, and both SQL and NoSQL frameworks. Work on a highly visible project. Create flexible, object oriented designs. Write maintainable code with extensive test coverage. Provide accurate estimates and deliver on schedule. Creatively solve problems in a distributed computing system.”
Qualifications for the position include the following: “Minimum of 4 years of industry experience with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a 4 year university. Computer Science or technical degree is preferred. Experience with the given technology stack is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and a strong background in designing web front-ends required. Understanding of large scale web architecture and object oriented design. Security: experience with encryption, authentication and SSO, and threat modeling is a plus. Experience in estimating, planning, designing, and implementing software projects. Experience in integrating multiple software products is a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills required.”
