NoSQL Job of the Day: Senior Software Engineer, Advertising Platform

UberMedia is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Advertising Platform in Pasadena, CA. The post states, “The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for overall architecture of the advertising platform, design of advertising applications, and development of optimization algorithms for advertising and targeting software. The key goal for this person will be to bring the platform successfully to market, and then to scale.” Responsibilities of the position include: “Design and implement the web portal where advertisers and publishers interact with our system. Will also implement the e-commerce platform that collects payments and apportions advertising dollars. Implement client-server API’s that allow machine interactions with our systems… Desire to design and implement solutions with significant data dependencies with NoSQL platforms in addition to traditional relational database platforms when appropriate.”

Qualifications include the following: “At least 7 years of hands on architecture, design, and development of real time data systems on the Linux platform. Technical expertise of hands-on development experience with relevant tools and platforms, such as Java, DHTML, CSS, AJAX, HTML5, PostgreSQL (or Mysql). At least 3 years developing highly scalable advertising software, including targeting platform, ad servers, etc. Excellent written communication and documentation skills. Experience with Hadoop, Hbase, Cassandra, Lucene, or MongoDB projects desirable.”
