Getaround is searching for a Senior Web Engineer in San Francisco, CA. The post states, “As Getaround’s Senior Web Engineer, you’ll be helping to build a scalable web and mobile web apps for carsharing. We’re looking for the right person who knows how to optimize App Engine entity groups, can build out a serious load testing suite, has previously written a CommonJS application, and has recently played with all the different varieties of NoSQL databases.”
Responsibilities of the position include: “Building beautiful, fast, and scalable software on the web. Developing features using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python. Developing infrastructure on Google App Engine and Amazon EC2. Architect-ing and developing aspects of our pub/sub event stream. Hacking together some cool ideas in an afternoon for feedback.” Qualifications include: “CS or equivalent degree. Experience in Python or Ruby on Rails. Experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience with scalable web systems. HAML/SASS, jQuery, and AJAX experience. Google App Engine and Amazon EC2 experience. Git and distributed revision control experience. High-profile work on commercial or open-source projects. Passion for cars and pioneering next-generation transportation.”
