Splunk is looking for a Senior Product Manager, Big Data Integrations in San Francisco, CA. According to the post, “Splunk is looking for a product leader to own integrations with Hadoop, Cassandra and a variety of NoSQL technologies. In this role, you will define the user epics and stories that make Splunk the premier technology for consuming and processing the world’s largest datasets programmatically. You will focus on defining where Splunk develops core technologies, integrates with open source tools and/or partners with others to create the most compelling data management experience. You will also act as the company expert on how Splunk compares competitively with other data-related analytics products and represent the company’s core product strategy with key customers and partners.”
Qualifications for the position include the following: “Software development lifecycle methods (e.g. waterfall, Agile / scrum) and typical process steps. Experience and familiarity with IT management products and services. Experience working with or as a developer using map/reduce technologies like Hadoop. Experience working with NoSQL alternative data stores, such as BigTable, Cassandra or CouchDB. Fluency in analysis of unstructured data sets. System and/or application monitoring. Relational databases (e.g. SQL, Oracle), especially regarding ETL and data integration techniques.”
