Symantec is looking for a Technical Director Data Architect – Cloud Computing in Culver City, CA. The post states, “In the Information Management Group, you will have the opportunity to work directly on data protection and archiving products using the latest disk, tape, de-duplication, archiving, indexing and virtual technologies. This group is devoted to changing the way organizations ensure successful backup, recovery and archiving of information and systems. If you would like to play a part in the success of market leading product teams such as NetBackup, PureDisk, Backup Exec, Backup Exec System Recovery and Enterprise Vault, then this group is for you!”
Qualifications include the following: “Minimum of 10 years of Enterprise Data Architecture experience, designing dimensional data models. Experience with multiple databases, such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, Postgres, with knowledge of NoSQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Google’s MapReduce and Google File System, etc desirable. Excellent knowledge of data architecture design patterns, data modeling, information flow modeling and data analysis skills. Strong experience in data modeling tools, database selection, optimization, clustering, availability, real-time transaction processing, and database deployment. Extensive experience in design, development, and maintenance of data models and its components, database design, development and deployment in a SaaS environment. Deep knowledge translating logical designs into physical databases.”
