According to a new press release, “The world’s first open source massively parallel data warehouse is now available on the AWS Marketplace powered by zData Inc. Greenplum Database® is designed to work effortlessly on AWS with easy management and installation from the AWS Marketplace. Greenplum Database® on AWS is geared towards big data analytics and has many data science features providing powerful and rapid analytics on petabyte scale data volumes.”

The release continues, “zData’s Marketplace product for the Greenplum Database distribution offers parallel features to the licensed version, Pivotal Greenplum®, that powers many of the world’s most innovative companies. zData saw a high demand for an enterprise grade cloud alternative to Amazon Redshift, one that was made possible with Pivotal’s release of Open Source Greenplum Database® in early 2016. ‘zData has been a strategic partner for many years. We are excited to see them continue to innovate and expand the adoption of the Open Source Greenplum Database® that Pivotal released to the community earlier this year.’ Jacque Istok, Field CTO, Pivotal Software.”

It goes on, “Greenplum Database on AWS comes integrated with zData’s new BURST platform. BURST offers self service management augmented by zData’s operations and support staff. This new platform features integrated alerts, data science, dashboards and security. With BURST, Greenplum Database® on AWS becomes a “click-to-load” solution, and allows organizations to start validating or realizing the benefits of Greenplum Database® in just minutes.”
