Dwight Merriman, founder of Doubleclick gave an excellent presentation last week at MongoSF. The presentation was entitled Why MongoDB Was Created. The thirty-two minute presentation gives insight into the beginnings of MongoDB, which Merriman had a part in creating, and gives a clear, thorough explanation of NoSQL.
According to the description, “Former DoubleClick Founder and CTO Dwight Merriman wrote the first lines of MongoDB code in 2007. He drew upon his experiences building large scale, high availability, robust systems to create a new kind of database. This session will introduce the history and philosophy of MongoDB, as well as a few key use cases.”
